American actor
Danielle Riley Keough. 2. Born in Santa Monica (California) to the famous
musicians Lisa Marie Presley & Danny Keough she is the grandchild of
the actress Priscilla Presley, as well as the singer Elvis Presley. Keough was
raised by her father in Hawaii, Los Angeles and spent time with her mother in
California. At the age of 15, she began modeling. This included appearances at
fashion shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior in addition to
appearing on the cover of Vogue. When she was 20, Keough was cast in a minor
role in The Runaways (2010) as Marie Currie. After The Good Doctor (2011) she
starred in Jack & Diane (2012). The film was followed by her being cast
as a minor character in Steven Soderbergh's comedy Magic Mike (2012). In 2012,
Keough appeared in Yellow and Kiss of the Damned. She was then in the action
film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). It was the fourth movie in the Mad Max series.
In 2016, Keough had her breakthrough role as a law student-turned-escort in the
first season of the anthology series The Girlfriend Experience,
executive-produced by Soderbergh and based on his 2009 film of the same name.
The character received praise from critics and she was nominated for a Golden
Globe Award for Best Performance by an actress in a limited motion-picture or
series created for television. Keough's performance as a lost young girl in
American Honey (2017) garnered her even more praise, and also an Independent
Spirit Award nomination. In the same year Keough was in the apocalyptic horror
film It Comes at Night (2017), and reunited with Soderbergh to appear in the
heist film Logan Lucky. In the year 2018, she starred in a variety of thriller
and horror movies, including Lars von Trier's The House That Jack Built as well
as the Neo-Noir Under the Silver Lake and Hold the Dark. In the year 2019,
Keough starred as the main character in the psychological horror film The
Lodge, followed by another leading role in comedy-drama Zola (2020). Keough
portrays Sandy Harrison in Netflix’s 2020 release of The Devil All the Time.
