Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn, born on May 12, 1972, is an American actress. She is known best for her role as attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), in which she has been two times winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film. The show also starred her in the NBC series Whitney (2011)-2013, ABC's I'm with Her(2003)-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011)-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on May 12 on the 12th of May, 1972. Her mother worked as an executive assistant to the United States Navy, while her father was an agent in the Naval Investigative Service; her family was frequently moved during her youth, living in Washington, D.C. and Arizona, as well as in Japan. Following in the footsteps of her father and grandmother and mother, she was a student of painting, drawing and architecture at the age of a child. Though she pursued all of the arts in her life, she also developed a passion for acting. While in college, she was introduced to the world of contemporary theater. She graduated with a BA in Studio Art from George Mason University in 1994. While at university, Seehorn was looking to be a theater actor, following the encouragement from her acting instructor. She took on a variety of assistant roles within the industry of theater in D.C. to try to get noticed. She was able to secure some important parts in local theatre productions. However, she still needed to find odd jobs to earn a living. In order to pay her bills, she was also able to take on roles in short instructional films. Then she started to get roles in more television productions usually in roles she considered as "very wry, sarcastic, knowing women" which was similar to her idol Bea Arthur. Most of these parts were then ended after one or two seasons. In the month of May, 2014, Seehorn was cast in the Breaking Bad spin-off prequel series Better Call Saul. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler, who is an attorney and the lover of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
