Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born on September 7, 1987 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage actor as well as a writer and director and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actor and acting coach. Her older brothers are Dana Wood, who is a musician and Ira David Wood IV, who has also acted. Evan and her brothers have frequently appeared at Theatre In The Park in Raleigh. Her father started it and is the executive director. At the age five she was screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst for her lead role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process. She moved to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 . She's been a hit ever since, appearing in a TV series, TV movies and feature films. She has appeared in Practical Magic (1998), starred in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as the daughter of Al Pacino, and the film followed with Thirteen (2003) in which she starred alongside Holly Hunter. Her breakout performance in the role of Tracy on "Thirteen" earned her an Golden Globes nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She was the youngest actress nominated for the Leading Role award at the time. She received an Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie" for her performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011). The actress also received acclaim for her strong performance as Stephanie her character, Mickey Rourke's estranged daughter in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008).
